11.05.2024

The participants of the event visited Odense, the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. Here, PlusPack, the family-owned company founded in 1914, hosted the event. It manufactures plastic packaging for food products under the leadership of the fourth generation of the Haustrup family.

In the town of Billund, the participants of the event visited the LEGO family business, which is one of the three largest toy manufacturers in the world. The Danish master-carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen founded the company in 1932; now the descendants of the founder own 85% of the shares. The LEGO Foundation donated $13.6 million to support and reconstruct the education system in Ukraine.

The program of the event also included a visit to the company Karlsberg Group, founded in Copenhagen in 1847 by Jacob Christian Jacobsen. It is the third largest brewing group in the world with its turnover exceeding $10 billion. One of the first international companies, Carlsberg Group stopped business in Russia, and allocated 75 million Danish kroner to support Ukraine only in 2022 (today the amount is 5 times higher).

The participants of the event held a session at the Copenhagen Business School. That was the exchange of experience about the leadership of business owners and top managers during the war. The participants also visited the Ukrainian House in Denmark, and had dinner at the Hindsgavl Royal Palace.
